To build a Bigo Live family 2026 style, a host creates the family from the Me tab in the app, meets Bigo's creation requirements, sets a revenue share on members' gifts, and then recruits, schedules PKs, and runs family events. A family is an in-app community, not an agency: it does not confer official host status and does not put anyone on the N1 to S11 tier chart.

Quick answer: Build a Bigo Live family 2026: open the app, go to Me, tap Family, create. Bigo sets creation requirements in-app. The leader sets the share taken from members' gifts. Recruit with a PK schedule and a written split, never with income screenshots. The leader's income is that share plus event rewards. Families die from churn, leaders who take too much, and members who self-gift to chase tier cliffs. How agencies sit above families, with dates, is on our best Bigo Live agency page.

Updated August 2026. The Streamer Agency applied to become a Bigo Live agency on June 10, 2026, was verbally approved on July 23, and withdrew on August 21 after six rejections of identical documents and 23 days of "expedited review." We do not place hosts on Bigo. This page explains how a family is created and run so a would-be leader knows the job and a host knows what she is joining.

How a Bigo Live family works

A Bigo Live family is an in-app community with a leader, a badge, a group chat, a family ranking, and a revenue share on members' gifts. It is created from the Me tab, approved by Bigo, and run entirely by the leader. It is not an agency, it does not sign contracts with Bigo, and it is a separate decision from whether a host builds a streaming career that lasts beyond one app.

The 6 steps to build a Bigo Live family 2026

  1. Qualify. Bigo gates family creation behind account requirements shown in the app.
  2. Create. Me tab, Family, Create. Name, badge, description, and a short review by Bigo.
  3. Set the share. Decide what percentage of members' gifts the family takes and put it in the family description.
  4. Recruit. Start with your own regulars, then hosts your size who PK at your hours. No income screenshots.
  5. Run PKs and events. Post a weekly PK board. Enter May Family Month, the Global Family Tournament, and seasonal family tasks as a team.
  6. Retain. Track valid days, warn members before cliffs, and let people leave clean.

Requirements to create a family

  • The Create option lives under Me, then Family, in the current app.
  • Bigo shows the account conditions on that screen.
  • Official host status is not required to create a family, and a family does not grant it; see Bigo Live family vs agency.
  • Bigo reviews the family name and badge before it goes live.
  • One account leads one family at a time.

Recruiting members honestly

  • Lead with the split and the PK schedule, not with income.
  • No income screenshots; a chart of 222 Beans per dollar says more than any screenshot.
  • Recruit hosts who stream at your hours, so PKs actually happen.
  • Recruit at or near your own size; a 40-name roster with 6 live hosts is 6.
  • Tell recruits what "support" costs them in hours per week.
  • Tell recruits how leaving works before they join.

Setting the share

  • The leader sets the share; Bigo does not fix it. The mechanics are on how Bigo Live family revenue share works.
  • Write it in the family description so nobody argues later.
  • State what it covers: all gifts, PK gifts only, event rewards.
  • A share a new host at 10,000 Beans (about $45) cannot afford is a share that costs you members.
  • Adjust once, publicly, if you must; never quietly.

Managing PKs and events

  • Post a weekly PK board with times and pairings.
  • Pair by size; a mismatch burns the smaller host's regulars' Diamonds (2.39 cents each in-app).
  • Enter team events: May Family Month ran 13 to 19 May 2026; the Global Family Tournament runs in December.
  • Publish how event rewards get split before the event, not after.
  • Never set a month-end quota that only self-gifting can hit.

What a leader earns

  • A share of members' gifts plus the leader's cut of event rewards.
  • The leader's own room still earns on its own; the family share is on top.
  • Ten active members at 30,000 Beans each is 300,000 Beans a month passing through the family; the leader's take is that times the share.
  • The leader earns nothing from members who stop streaming, which is why retention is the job.
  • A family share is not the agency rebate; agencies are paid by Bigo on a separate ladder.

The rule nobody mentions: a family cannot move anyone up the tier chart

The official host tier chart is agency territory. It runs from N1 (20 hours, 10,000 Beans, $100 tier salary) to S11 (50 hours, 3,000,000 Beans, $24,000), with a valid-day floor of 0.5 billable hours and a cap of 2 per day. Family membership is not a variable in it, and neither is going without an agency: only agency-signed hosts are paid tier salaries. A leader who sells her family as a path to S-tier salaries is selling something she does not control, and a member who self-gifts to cross a cliff for the family's rank is paying about $120 in-app per 5,000 Beans. The numbers behind that are on how much Bigo streamers make in 2026.

How to run the family month to month

Five named habits. First, Roll call: on the 1st, count who streamed last month, not who is listed. Second, Board: post the PK schedule on Monday with pairings by size. Third, Cliff check: around the 25th, tell any member within 5,000 Beans of a tier what it would cost to self-gift and let her decide with the number in front of her. Fourth, Split report: show members what the family took and what events paid. Fifth, Exit door: when someone wants out, remove the badge the same day. The agency layer above all of this, and how to judge it, is on how to judge a Bigo Live agency.

The 6 things that kill Bigo Live families

  1. Churn. Members who leave at month two because the split was a surprise.
  2. Leaders who take too much. A share that only works for the leader works for nobody.
  3. Members who self-gift to chase cliffs. $2,000 spent to unlock $1,200 is a loss, and it leaves the app.
  4. Recruiting with screenshots. Recruits who joined for a number leave for a number.
  5. Mismatched PKs. Small hosts paired up lose their regulars.
  6. Quotas without a cliff behind them. Pressure with no payout.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you build a Bigo Live family 2026?

Open the app, go to Me, tap Family, and choose Create. Meet the account requirements Bigo shows on that screen, pick a name and badge, and wait for review. Then set the share you take from members' gifts, write it in the description, and recruit hosts your size who stream at your hours. Post a weekly PK board, enter team events like May Family Month (13 to 19 May 2026), and track members' valid days. The creation takes minutes; the running is a monthly job.

What are the requirements to create a Bigo Live family?

Bigo sets them and displays them in the app at the moment you tap Create under Me, then Family. Official host status is not a requirement, and creating a family does not grant it. Bigo reviews the name and badge before the family goes live. One account can lead one family at a time. If the Create button is greyed out, the account has not met the threshold yet.

How much does a family leader make on Bigo Live?

The leader's income is her share of members' gifts plus her cut of team event rewards, on top of whatever her own room earns. Ten active members at 30,000 Beans each put 300,000 Beans through the family in a month; at about 222 Beans per dollar that is roughly $1,350 of cash-out value, and the leader's take is that times the share. It is not the agency rebate, which Bigo pays agencies separately.

Is a Bigo Live family the same as an agency?

No. A family is an in-app community run by a member. An agency is a contracted partner of Bigo that signs hosts, confers official host status, and qualifies them for the tier chart from N1 (10,000 Beans, $100) to S11 (3,000,000 Beans, $24,000). A host can be in both at once and pay both. Leaving a family is an in-app action; leaving an agency in practice takes 60 to 90 days of not streaming and not logging in. See the Bigo Live agency contract, line by line.

How do I recruit members without lying about income?

Lead with three things a recruit can check: the split in writing, last week's PK board, and how many members streamed this week. Skip income screenshots entirely. A host who understands that Beans cash out at 222 per dollar and that the tier salary belongs to agencies will trust a leader who says so. Recruit at your own size and at your own hours, because PKs that never happen are the first reason members drift.

Should a family set monthly Bean quotas?

Only if the quota matches a real payout. The official cliffs are large: 795,000 Beans pays the S6 $5,200, and 800,000 pays $6,700. A family quota usually has no cliff behind it, so a member who self-gifts to hit it is spending about $120 in-app per 5,000 Beans for nothing but a badge. Set activity targets (valid days, PKs per week) instead of Bean targets, and tell members the cliff math before the 25th.

Why do Bigo Live families fall apart?

Three causes cover most of it. Churn: members leave at month two when the split turns out bigger than they understood. Leaders who take too much: a share that only works for the leader empties the roster. Self-gifting: members who spend to chase cliffs ($2,000 to unlock $1,200 is a documented pattern) run out of money and leave the app. A leader who fixes the split, pairs PKs fairly, and bans quota pressure avoids all three.

Can a family help a host grow without an agency?

Yes, for the parts a family controls: PK partners, room support, and team events. One of the largest hosts in North America, 2.28 million fans and over 42 million Beans, has never signed with an agency. What a family cannot do is put a host on the tier chart; only signing with an agency does that, and an unsigned host earns cash-out plus Bean Rush instead. Bean Rush, Bigo's matching program for independent hosts, paid a 1,050 Bean weekly reward for hitting 1,500 Beans in August 2026. Growth tactics are on how to grow on Bigo Live.

Does The Streamer Agency place hosts on Bigo Live?

No. The Streamer Agency applied to become a Bigo Live agency on June 10, 2026 and was verbally approved on July 23. Six rejections of identical documents followed between July 24 and July 28. "Expedited review" began July 29. We withdrew on August 21, 2026. We represent hosts on TikTok Live, Twitch, Kick, and YouTube Live.
